Planning your first e-bike tour? Where to go.

Are you planning on your first e-wheel tour?

What to think about before you turn off the pedal

๐Ÿงญ Select your route

Are you planning on your first e-wheel tour or vacation? Be honest with what you want from your trip and level of fitness. A multi -day tour with Panniers is a different beast from a delicate day with only your phone, wallet and snacks.

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ Start a little: weekend off

A two -day trip is a great first taste. Add some hill to test your feet and battery. Hold on well-known routes-these are usually well cited and have a lot of accommodation. Choose a cozy B&B or pitch tent than you are harder than me!

๐Ÿก overnight and tour

Choose one base and study there. We did it in Croatia, staying in the apartment and making day trips. This meant that we were able to eat, set our feet up and avoid going out again after a long hot race.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Multi -day tour

If you like to cover more land, think about the landscape. The apartment is fine! Our first tour was Salzburg to Passau (2 nights, 3 days) along Salzachi and Inn Rivers – a delicate introduction. Later, we drove from Passau to the Vienna Danube, which gave us more experience and confidence.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What did we learn

By the third day the pains were set up. Pain, tired legs, a little rubbing … and sometimes a short mood! Tip of the top: Pack the sudocrem – it does almost everything from sunburn to saddle wounds. If you are awkward, take a break: swim, visit the view or relax easily. It will help reset your mood and remind you how far you have come.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Do you feel an adventurous feeling?

Want a couple of mountains? To remain with known paths like Enns or Mur wheel path in Austria or Bodensee loopwhich passes through Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Some climb but nothing too scary.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Maps and Route Planning

I use both technologies with bike applications and books. It can be overloaded, but I like to get a book through the book or start the card when you stop coffee.

I swear by biclin books https://www.esterbauer.com/bikeline-produkti/ – they are detailed, waterproof and full of helpful Information such as surfaces, gradients and attractions. Mayri cards are also Great for a local tour. Both are available on the web or bookstores. The great thing about the cards of both companies is that they are waterproof, mandatory for the cycle card.

๐Ÿงณ DIY or an organized tour?

If you like planning (like me), book your accommodation, select routes and go to your pace. But if you want to hand over logistics, many companies offer guided or self -guided excursions with luggage transfer.

I recommend to look at Eurobik (Austria)-We have met many happy passengers on their tours!

๐Ÿ“ธ Capture memories

You choose any route, take a lot of photos. When life becomes passionate or rainy (or both), it reminds you of what you are capable of – and why you first drive.

โœ… Final thoughts:

Beginner tips briefly

  • Start with a short flat tour
  • Choose a well marked route.
  • Stay cozy: padded shorts, sudocrem and snacks.
  • Do not rush – the landscape.

Enjoy driving, not just to your destination.
