At The biggest cog is the intimate oneand this lower gear Easier for pedals. When pedaling is hard or accelerated from a stop position, you will want to use these lower gears that require less effort, which helps you reach an effective cadence when the will become difficult.

The same logic applies to internally geared e-bike. You will see the numbers (high numbers for small gears, low numbers for large gears) and can orient yourself that way.
