Safe and Secure: How to Defend Against E-Bike Theft

Spread the love

How should you turn off your e-bike? I saw my fair share of wrong safety bikes, essentially inviting to steal the bikes to snatch them up. Using appropriate blocking techniques shows bike thieves that you are serious about safety and, if they actually try to take your bike, they will have to make it the hard way.

Always close your bike into a solid, real estate object, such as a bike rack, metal post, or tree. Make sure the bike rack or post is properly bolted to the ground. Close your bike frame to the object, ideally also including the rear wheel. For maximum protection, use a second set or cable set that runs through the other wheel for all main parts of your bike to secure.

For extra points, minimize the rest space in the bike series so steal can stick a lever to have to increase the open range or achieve a good position with an angle mill. Wearing the lower range of the ground also limits increased potential for these types of attacks.
